Cruising as a vacation is booming, with more and more families choosing it as an option. Why? Well I think because of the variety of things on offer, families feel safe and they know their children will have enough on offer to keep them entertained. Cruises also actually offers incredible value for money, as many cruises include all meals, entertainment and accommodation, allowing you to budget easily.
I think its hard to appreciate quite how much fun they are as a family until you actually try it. I recently returned from a short cruise with the Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL.co.uk) and saw not only the family friendly aspects, but also how much fun you could have whilst the children were entertained. Curious? Well here is a short video capturing the fun:
Do not fear though, people of all ages are catered for, especially on a cruise as relaxed as NCL.
Something I thought really unique, was the cruises you could book, that are designed and priced for the solo traveller with no single person supplement. We visited one of the studios for singles, it had a full size bed, a one-way window (with blind) to the corridor and separate areas for the toilet, sink and shower. They are located in a private keycard-access complex with their own Studio Lounge and bar. They even organise single meet ups throughout the cruise if you want to join in too.
For me cruising is a fantastic way to see the world, giving you the flexibility to discover different counties.
So have you got the cruising bug? Or have we tempted you to give it a go, we’d love to hear from you in the comments.
I love the idea of a one-way window out onto the corridor! I’ve heard a lot about cruises for families – sounds as though they’d be fun for singles, too.
