Welcome to a new series of posts, the Friday Edit, where we will be showcasing some of our favourite stylish finds from hotels, to holiday wear to overseas trips and sunglasses. All of the posts will have style as their focus, because that’s what we all love right? Whether you’re on a budget trip or the holiday of a lifetime, add in a little stylish glamour and you’re all set.
So my first post is looking at my favourite stylish UK Boutique hotels. Perfect for a getaway either with your partner or for a girls weekend, these hotels epitomise everything that is stylish, with great design and unique looks.
Great John Street – Manchester
I stayed here several years ago and it was stunning. A luxury eclectic hotel, Great John Street is a converted Victorian school-house which just oozes individuality and fabulous design. Different areas, including the rooftop lounge, library and heated playroom help create a unique hotel that never fails to deliver.
With only a handful of bedrooms, all are completely individual with their own feel and look. Again, the eclectic design wins through, although the rooms seem lighter and brighter than the main areas of the hotel.
In a great, central location in Manchester too, within easy walking distance to the shops, bars and nightlife. You can even visit Coronation Street (the hotel is in front of the venue) as part of your trip.
Book Great John Street on their website here.
54 Boutique Hotel – London
This is an Edwardian hotel in the heart of South Kensington. Choosing a London boutique hotel is particularly difficult as there are so many, but this one jumped out at me. I’ve not stayed here, but couldn’t resist including it in my Friday Edit today.
54 Boutique Hotel oozes style and chic glamour. The 26 bedrooms are decorated in a contemporary style, with neutral colours and high quality linens and toiletries. Located just minutes from the Natural History Museum and of course, local tube stations, this hotel is a little bit of calming luxury in a great part of London.
Fishmore Hall – Ludlow
Fishmore Hall is a privately owned Shropshire boutique country house hotel, with 15 designer bedrooms and contemporary bathrooms. The views look pretty incredible too. What does stand out from this hotel, is the food and restaurant. Check out the website for more information but there are delights such as the breakfast through to the Shropshire Tasting menu. This hotel is definitely on my wishlist for when I visit this part of the country again.
Francis Hotel – Bath
A Georgian townhouse on Bath’s original classic square, the Francis Hotel is packed with Regency design. A true gem of a hotel it occupies 7 of the original 18th Century townhouses that make up the south side of Bath’s Queen Street. There are 98 bedrooms, (so plenty of choice) all decorated in a plush, contemporary style with a modern nod to regency design. It’s a clever combination.
Artists Residence – London
I couldn’t resist adding the Artist Residence to my selection today, just look at that room above! Rustic, contemporary and luxurious, this one is packed with up to date styling. With original Eine artworks, bespoke beds and vintage-inspired bathrooms the look seems stunning, but there’s also an incredible cocktail bar too. Who wouldn’t want to try an avocado lemonade right?
What do you think of our Boutique hotel selection in the Friday Edit today? We’d love to know if you have your own favourite to add to the list.
