We woke up bright and early, on our second morning whilst we were in Orlando Florida, this summer. Knowing we were going to be trying something completely new to us at Walt Disney World. We were looking forward to it, we knew it would be good, but we had no idea it would be quite as amazing, as it was. You see, we had, for the first time ever, booked a Walt Disney World VIP tour.
Now I should point out that these are an added extra, they are definitely a luxury item when it comes to a holiday at WDW as they cost anything from $400-$600 per hour for a tour like ours, but they can be completely tailored to what you want out of the experience. Even for a family like ours, having visited 7 times now, we absolutely loved our tour, and got so much out of it.
We were picked up, by our guide for the day Janet, in a luxury car at our resort – Port Orleans, Riverside. Driven expertly to The Magic Kingdom, which was our chosen park for Janet to help us navigate. Disney tunes were playing in the car, as we were driven to a private VIP entrance of the park. Greeted warmly, with no queues, we didn’t even have to show our magic bands as we were given water, snacks and shown into an almost deserted Tomorrowland. I’m sure this is what it feels like to be famous was all I kept thinking.
We’d already had a chat in the car, so we had a plan for the day. We wanted to go on all of the big rides, Meet as many of the characters, and really take advantage of the VIP tour. Janet would tell us fun facts, take us to our lunch reservation and show us where all of the great spots were for photo opportunities. It sounded too good to be true, would we really just be able to walk straight onto all of the rides?
My husband and I (aka The Tall fella) aren’t brilliant on the scarier rides, Janet confessed she was a total thrill seeker, and said any we were a little *ahem* too scared to go on, she would act as chaperone for the girls.
The first thing we did was to go on all of the rides in Tomorrowland, and from there, we worked our way around the whole of the park. Each time we wanted to do or see something we would enter via the fast pass queue, Janet chatting to the staff, as we were quickly ushered straight in. Anyone who has been to the Magic Kingdom, in July and August will know just how busy it is, and the queues especially on some of most popular rides can be huge.
It felt like we were there with a good friend, a pal who knew all the secrets, and was a close relative of all of the cast members we met on the way. It made such a difference to our experience. Both of my girls fell utterly in love with Janet, and were asking her to go on various rides with them, as we went around the park. It’s really fun now seeing her on lots of the Memory Maker images. I think you can really tell she loves the rides…a lot more than me!
Even as we arrived at the Liberty Tree Tavern, where would be enjoying lunch, our VIP guide signed us in, and got us sat down whilst we waited for our table. It was the small things like, where was the nearest restroom, to where would she recommend we go for a snack, to how many times can two over excited girls ride thunder mountain? She knew what, where, how and why to all their questions. It absolutely blew us away, just how cool this whole experience was.
She even made sure, that each of the girls, got to do everything that was on each of their hits lists. For Ava it was to see all of the Princesses and characters, so that’s exactly what Janet managed to fit in.
We have never before, managed to fit in as much as we that day at Magic Kingdom. We left happy, and bursting with memories.
So to summarise, here is why I think having VIP tour is the best idea if you are new or old to the most magical place on earth.
- A flexible start time, picked by you
- Luxurious private transport to and from the park
- Visits to multiple theme parks or just one
- Enjoy your favourite attractions efficiently, even repeatedly if you want to
- VIP seating for parades, some stage shows and nighttime spectaculars (you would need to ask for specific examples)
- Adaptable throughout the day
- Amazing expert knowledge from VIP Tour Guide throughout your tour
- A completely customised experience based on your preferences
