Last summer we took a trip to Italy, the first as a family and the first doing this kind of trip. In the past we've enjoyed all-inclusive trips to hotels all over Europe and beyond, but with the girls getting older and not willing to share a room with us, let alone a bed, we looked at different options. A friend mentioned Lake Garda for our summer trip and once I looked into it, it was pretty much a no-brainer. Here are 5 reasons to visit Lake … [Read more...]
Top Tips for Driving Abroad
As my summer holiday to Italy approaches, my thoughts turn to the one and only time I have ever driven abroad, coincidently also in Italy. It was a pretty stressful experience if I'm honest. My ex partner didn't drive so the onus was on me, and suffice to say going up the motorway the wrong way wasn't a great start. Having said that, I got all four of us to our resort in Lake Garda in one piece and I was very proud of myself for managing it. But … [Read more...]

I've just come back from a lovely weekend in Kilkhampton, Devon, which is about a 20 minute drive from Bude in Cornwall. A James Villa Holiday in Cyprus
Having just spent a week in Cyprus, I am completely spellbound with the whole island. It is full of contrasts - from the cuisine, the landscape with archaeology and ancient churches, to the vibrant bustling and noisy commercial new areas surrounding Paphos. Quite a harsh landscape in the mountainous areas, but beautiful unspoilt beaches too. It was hot, scorcio in fact (can you tell I have GCSE in meteorology!) I was surprised to see … [Read more...]
